Storage used by the custom Careergate code
Our website uses local storage as well as services that can use cookies. Local storage is information kept by your browser on your device.
- cg-saved: stores the identifiers of jobs you choose to save. It does not contain a CV or contact details. It has no automatic expiry in our custom code and remains until you remove saved jobs or clear the site’s browser storage.
- cg-jobs-v1 (removed): an earlier version cached public job listings in local storage. The updated code removes that entry when it loads the listings and no longer writes a persistent job cache.
Platform and security services
The site is hosted by Squarespace. Its platform uses essential security and operational cookies and offers optional cookies through the banner. Select “Accept all”, “Decline all” or “Manage cookies”, and use “Cookie Preferences” to revisit your choice. Squarespace’s restrictive cookie setting is enabled and visitor activity logging is disabled. The public server response sets a secure, session cookie called crumb for cross-site request-forgery protection. Squarespace can also store cookie-choice preferences and, if you accept the relevant category, analytics identifiers. See Squarespace’s cookie information for its platform cookie names, purposes and lifetimes. Our forms offer Google reCAPTCHA for spam prevention. It loads only after you select “Enable spam check”, separately from optional analytics choices. Enabling it allows Google to process device and interaction information and potentially use cookies for that check. You can email info@careergate.co.uk instead. The enable choice is held for the current page rather than remembered across visits. Leaving or refreshing the page ends that page’s activation; browser settings can clear cookies already set by Google. The exact technologies depend on the service configuration and your browser.

This page describes the custom code we have identified; it is not a complete inventory of every cookie or identifier that the platform or third parties may set.
Your choices
You can remove saved jobs using the website controls and clear cookies or local storage through your browser settings. Removing local storage removes saved-job choices and cached listings. Browser blocking may affect forms or other site functions. Browser settings alone do not replace any consent controls that are required for a particular technology.
